Happy Thursday Everyone! It's time once again for Fabulous Florida Mommy *Book Club* and this week we continue our read of Parisian Chic: A Style Guide by Inès de la Fressange. :)
Today we continue with the second part of the book: Belle of the Ball....
Part Three: Timeless Beauty...
My absolute role model is singer Julio Iglesias. Asked if he was afraid of getting old, he replied "But I'm already old..." The Parisian is more worried about wrinkles at 20 than she is at 50.
For Lifelong Beauty:
*Look after your teeth. Have them professionally cleaned every six months.
*Be nonchalant and forget your age.
*Be cooler and more easy-going.
*Be less selfish.
*Be passionate about a man, a project, a house. It's an instant facelift.
*Do only what suits you. The perfect Zen attitude.
*Accept that there will be bad days. And make the most of the good days!
*Moisturize your skin thoroughly.
*Use mascara, but forget liquid eyeliner.
*Choose foundation that's slightly paler than your natural tone. It will soften your complexion and even out dark shadows.
*Choose a bright lipstick, or gloss.
*Keep your nails short and manicure them regularly.
Things to Avoid at All Costs (or you'll look ten years older):
*Too much heavy, opaque foundation, especially if it's too dark (à la "I'm a tanning salon regular").
*Glittery eye shadow — will only make your wrinkles sparkle.
*Thick, neglected eyebrows.
*Too much powder.
*Brown blush in the hollows of your cheeks.
*A contour line around the lips.
*Sparkly orange or "nude" lipstick.
...all these things will make you look far older than you really are!
(All the information above is from the book.)
What are your thoughts on the highlights from the *Timeless Beauty* chapter? Do you agree with what Inès has to say? Please do share! :)
